Biography

Meet Bowlby, our in-house therapy dog!

Bowlby is a chocolate Goldendoodle, and is owned by David and his family.  He is in the office most days.  His job is to greet clients with his signature “smile” (we promise, he’s not showing his teeth in aggression!), and in session, to give clients a comforting presence.  Research shows that even petting a dog for a few moments can help with the increase in oxytocin flow, which helps to reduce stress, and to connect with others.  Bowlby is named after the great Dr. John Bowlby, the originator of attachment theory.

While Bowlby is naturally calm, well-trained, and considered hypoallergenic, we recognize that not all clients are comfortable with a dog around, or have extra sensitivities to animals.  Please speak to your therapist about this and we will make sure Bowlby is not part of your experience.
